Are you tired of your bow man taking forever to get you jib in your foil? Tired of having to burn off the top of the luff tape to get it into the feeder? Did you ever have the entire luff of a jib pull out of its foil?
If your answer to any of these questions was "yes", perhaps you should consider adding a Foilfeed to the top of your jibs.
Foilfeed, pictured above, is a molded nylon device that could be termed a "headboard" for your jibs. It has a nylon "slug" the same diameter as your luff tape that is attached to the top of the jib much the same way a headboard is attached to the top of a mainsail. The luff tape and slug are kept in line with each other by having a long, pointed spike of nylon inserted into the center of the luff rope when the Foilfeed is intalled. The slug and headboard part of the Foilfeed are attached to each other by a thin fin of nylon that will slip easily through the opening in the pre-feeder and the permanent feeder on your foil device.
With Foilfeed on your jibs, the nylon slug and fin take all the abuse that previously frayed and tore the top of your luff tape and the chances of pulling the top of your tape out of the foil are virtually eliminated.
