The People
The collective experience at UKHNW is staggering. Tim, Sharon, Alex, Sharon M, and Liz have a total of 85 years of sail making experience.
Tim Knight, Owner
Starting at the age of 15 Tim has been building sails, spars, and boats. At the age of 50 he has the experience to help sailors with any facet of their sailing dreams. Tim's experience is first hand. He has owned and sailed everything from International 14's to 44' Wooden Gaff Cutters, his present boat is a Farrier F9R racing multi-hull. Tim thinks outside the box to come up with simple elegant solutions to any sailing situation whether you are a cruiser or a racer. Let Tim listen to your ideas.
Alex Fox
Alex has been sailing and racing for over 35 years. 10 of those years have been spent working for North, Hood and UK Sailmakers as a sail designer, builder, and consultant. As a racer Alex is one of the top sailors in the N.W. In the last 2 years overall wins at Whidbey, and Grand Prix confirms this. If racing is your prime focus there is no one better to help you prepare for the coming racing season. Alex's attention to detail coupled with our UK long life tape drive sails, can put you in the winners' circle tomorrow and beyond. Having built Alex up in the racing field, it is only fair to let you know he has an equally firm grasp of what it takes to simplify and make the cruisers life easier and more enjoyable.
Sharon McBride
Saron is the Loft Floor Manager at UK-Halsey. Whether building a new sail, handling a recut or repair; Sharon's cheerful professionalism shines through. Over 20 years of experience at North, Leich & McBride, Hood and UK has brought Sharon to the pinnacle of her career. Sharon treats customers, sails and employees with respect. She manages the floor, the schedule; liaison's with clients, keeps the employee's happy and consults with Tim and Alex.
Liz Salls
Liz came to work for us after working at Quantum on the East Coast. Her cheerful attitude and consistent work habits have made her a valuable asset on the loft floor.
Sharon Mobey
Sharon's previous sewing experience allowed her to become a qualified seamstress/floor person at UK-Halsey in a very short time period. 4 years later Sharon has the ability to build and repair sails to the UK standard that our clients have come to expect.
