David Constance became involved with the sport as a student, through Tulane University Sailing. His interest in sailing continued while stationed in Hawaii as a submarine officer. Upon returning to New Orleans David became involved in the Gulf Coast sailing community, and began racing in Lake Pontchartrain. When David met his neighbor Neil (a former sailmaker), a sail loft was soon to follow.
"While the connection between sailing and engineering is obvious, the part that I find most fascinating is the seemingly unknown - the art of sailing. But like most talent, it is really through study and practice that the magic is created."

>From downtown New Orleans - Take I-10 West to Florida Blvd/West End Blvd, exit 231B. Travel north on West End Blvd for 1.5 miles. Just past Robert E. Lee Blvd take the first LEFT onto Lake Marina Ave. Travel 1 mile, and after the road curves to the right take a RIGHT turn onto South Roadway. The loft is upstairs on the right in the last commercial building before the boathouses (~200 yds).
>From Metairie - Take I-10 East to I-610 (exit 230). Immediately upon entering I-610, take the first exit, West End Blvd/Canal Blvd (exit 1A). Travel north on West End Blvd for 1.5 miles. Just past Robert E. Lee Blvd take the first LEFT onto Lake Marina Ave. Travel 1 mile, and after the road curves to the right take a RIGHT turn onto South Roadway. The loft is upstairs on the right in the last commercial building before the boathouses (~200 yds).
>From eastern New Orleans - Take I-610 West to Canal Blvd, exit 1A. Turn RIGHT onto Canal Blvd, and travel north for 1.5 miles. Take a LEFT on Robert E. Lee Blvd, and travel west for 0.5 miles. Take a RIGHT on Lakeshore Dr. (West End Blvd), and take an immediate LEFT onto Lake Marina Ave. Travel 1 mile, and after the road curves to the right take a RIGHT turn onto South Roadway. The loft is upstairs on the right in the last commercial building before the boathouses (~200 yds).
