Chris Streits FANDANGO, a Hinkley Bermuda 40 Mk III sloop, finished second in class in this years Marion to Bermuda race. She is shown on the starting line with her Tape-Drive main with vertical leech battens thats partially furled into the mast. Also making his mark in the race was 92-year-old Jim Mertz of American Yacht Club who finished third in Class C, sailing his Beneteau 42 ALLEGRA. Mertz was the oldest sailor in the fleet and holds the record for racing to Bermuda more than any individual. This was his 39th race to Bermuda. The boat has a full inventory of UK-Halsey sails; for the race ALLEGRA got a new Dacron full-batten main and Dacron genoa.
