JUST RELEASED!
THE UPDATED FOR 2005-2008 RULES QUIZ CD

UK Sailmakers is pleased to announce that we have updated and greatly improved the Real Time Racing Rules Quiz CD. Along with the new rules, the CD is packed with more quizzes, sound effects, exciting video clips, all the appendices, the appeals, and a protest form you can print out when needed. We even provide a tool to update your CD as soon as new quizzes are posted to the UK web site.
The quizzes help you learn the rules because you look at situations the way a protest committee does. The difference is that instead of hearing two different stories about a situation, you watch an animated movie. After you analyze the movie you can read the “Facts Found” followed by the “Conclusions and Rules That Apply”. In the answers, each rule is hot linked so that you can call up the rule mentioned with a click of the mouse. The animations can be enlarged to full screen for easy viewing, or you can choose to view the animation along with the answer to the quiz and the text of any rule you have a question about – all on one screen, no page flipping. Truly the easiest way to learn the rules!
For those who own a previous version of the CD, the upgrade price is $25 plus $3 shipping to the USA and Canada, or $5 to all other countries. For first-time buyers, the price is $45 with the same shipping rates as above. Proof of purchase is necessary to receive the upgrade price.

SWEEP AT HOBIE 33 MIDWINTERS
TAMPA, FL -- With 7 firsts and a second, Mauri Pro Sailing won the Hobie 33 Class and Hobie 33 Midwinter’s at the St. Petersburg NOOD regatta. MAURI PRO’s speed had a lot to do with her UK main and No. 1 genoa. “From the day before the regatta we found out how fast the boat was against the other Hobies,” said owner Erminio Di Lodovico. “We pointed higher than anybody else and the sails looked fantastic. Also, with our Matrix spinnaker, we sailed faster down wind. I was very impressed with the boat’s dominant performance.” Seven other boats in the fleet got a lesson in speed from MAURI PRO SAILING.
Another Texas boat, the Olson 30 Wild Rover sailing with three-year-old Tape-Drive sails finished second in her six-boat one-design class. Skipper Mike McGagh said, “Our sails are still in pretty good shape and we sailed very fast. We raced with the Hobie 33s and we could see how fast MAURI PRO was with her brand new s.”
