Color Your Spinnaker
The second part of our "Salute To Spinnakers" is the unveiling of UK's new spinnaker coloring program. UK makes the process of choosing your spinnaker colors simple and fun. Just go to the Downloads section of the site and choose Color Your Spinnaker. To use the program easily, it's best to have talked with your local UK Sailmakers representative first so that you can work out the details of the sail you are interested in. For instance, do you need a Tri-Radial Flasher or a Radial Head Flasher? Also, your rep. can tell you what weight and kind of cloth is best for the sail you want.

Once you have worked out the details, using the program will be simple. First click on the type of sail you want: Radial Head Flasher, Tri-Radial Flasher, Standard Spinnaker or Asymmetrical Spinnaker. The next page will bring up three data-bases where you click on your boat, cut of sail, and cloth style. Then you'll come to the page where you fill in the actual panel layout with colors. When you choose the cloth type on the previous page, the colors that that cloth comes in will be the only choices you get. This way you can not choose colors that are not available.

Changing the colors is as easy as placing a new color on top of the color you want to change. There's an option to print out the picture so that you can show it to your family or crew for comments. Only when you're ready, do you hit the submit button. It's that easy.

Race Results
Congratulations to J/80 World champion Kerry Klingler who won the 23-boat J/80 class at the just completed Key West Race Week. Klingler said he had plenty of speed, which helped him post a 1,1,1,1,5,3 set of scores to win the regatta by 12 points. Klingler's lack of speed in the last two races was due to having his rig set too tight. He had anticipated more breeze when setting up the rig before heading out that day. Any J/80 sailors interested in get a tuning guide can reach Kerry via e-mail at: kerry@uksailmakers.com

UK Sailmakers stars in popular new class: Beneteau 36.7
UK Sailmakers has recently secured orders for 14 sets of Tape Drive racing sails for the new Beneteau First 36.7. The Beneteau 36.7 follows in the footsteps of it's bigger sister the First 40.7, and early regatta results indicate this new Farr design will be just as successful.

UK Sails first set of sails was for VAGABOND , she won the IRC Winter Classic 'Antibes Week Regatta' (Christmas 2001) winning all races. VAGABOND was using Tape Drive Carbon sails, and UK Sails' sail designers have been already been busy refining VAGABOND's sail designs based on feedback from the analysis gained.
