| September 16, 2009 REMEDY WINS SCREWPILE OVERALL This year’s Screwpile Regatta drew 115 boats from every corner of the Chesapeake Bay to race off the mouth of the Patuxent River for three solid days of racing in pleasant temperatures, mostly sunny skies, and enough breeze for each fleet to fit in seven or eight races, all with the scenic Calvert Cliffs as a backdrop. | August 27, 2008 KA’IO VICTORIOUS IN SCREWPILE DEBUT  Art Silcox, resident of West River, Md., has had an impressive year so far. About the Loft
In 1975, Scott Allan Sailmakers was formed to create the ultimate in personal sail loft services in the Mid-Atlantic region. As a founder of Horizon Sails and subsequently a member of the Doyle Sails Group, sailing champion and Olympic sailor Scott Allan has made a commitment that UK-Halsey Annapolis not only be a source of outstanding new racing and cruising sails, but is also a leader in providing service to existing sails through its fully staffed service department. By joining forces with the UK-Halsey, UK-Halsey Annapolis aligned itself with one of the most powerful and influential forces in sailmaking. UK-Halsey Annapolis is a full service sail loft. All sails are designed, computer cut and built at our loft in Annapolis. Other services include a canvas shop, and the sale of any roller/furling system on the market. Our sail consultants can answer any roller/furling question. A sail loft is only as good as it''s people. At all too many lofts you need a score card to keep track of the faces. At UK Annapolis the same core group of sailmakers has been here since the loft was opened in 1975. More than one hundred years of collective sailmaking experience is at your service when you walk through our doors. No loft in Annapolis, and few lofts in the world can match this consistency and experience. More than just top sailors, our consultants are perceptive, articulate, and anxious to communicate clearly and simply the ideas and concepts which will help each sailor choose the right sails to begin with, and then help use and maintain them throughout their life. Our sail consultants include: Scott Allan and David Gross.
